 McMorris "A Few More Reasons"

As a first-term member of Congress, Cathy McMorris was a potential target of the national Democrats’ strategy to win the majority in the U.S. House of Representatives. The 2006 election cycle saw Republicans across the country struggle- even prominent ones in Republican leaning areas. Congresswoman Cathy McMorris Rodgers was a notable exception to this trend, thanks to a solid legislative record and an aggressive campaign.

Working with the campaign team, SRCP produced advertising emphasizing her record as a protector of the people of the 5th Congressional District of Washington. Her Democrat opponent, rancher Peter Goldmark, attacked McMorris with sometimes bitter negative ads. He was joined by the DCCC, which ran attack ads of their own. The McMorris campaign fought back, driving up the Democrat’s negatives in part by telling him "The Tax Man." Despite a Democratic tide across the country, Cathy McMorris was re-elected with 56% of the vote.

"SRCP provided high quality, creative advertisement targeted to the dynamics of the race...they actively engaged week in and week out on developing and implementing a winning strategy and message. In addition, they made it fun." Cathy McMorris, WA
